QUESTION OF THE WEEK: WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE V12 SUPERCAR CURRENTLY ON SALE?

The V12 engine is being squeezed out. Where barely 10 years there was still a sizable catalogue of large-stroked exotica for wealthy customers, 2024’s options are… less bountiful.

But the important thing is that there are still a few roaming around for now, namely from the usual suspects. And it got us thinking for this round of our running Question of the Week series: which V12 supercar would take our readers’ vote as their favourite in 2024?

Let’s start with a slightly more mass-produced car in the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera. It’s a car which moved the British marque’s design language forward from the long body, long bonnet silhouette that we had grown so accustomed to. And perched right at the helm of that reimagined body is a 5.2-litre V12 with all of 759bhp to exploit through to the rear wheels.

Up one bracket in terms of pricing and power is the Lamborghini Revuelto which, of course, is a hybrid. Though the hybrid section of its 12-cylinder powertrain has a fairly small role to play; it’s still an extremely vocal, typically flamboyant big Lambo, and certainly one that’s worthy of the raging bull badge. Not least because the Revuelto is its most powerful production product ever.

And then there’s the forthcoming Ferrari 12 Cilindri. Deliveries are expected to begin by the end of this year, which should give the world a bit more time to get used to those Daytona-inspired black strips. But more importantly, it may well be Ferrari’s last big V12-powered grand tourer, the thought of which leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

Special shout-outs here must also go to the GMA T.50 and the Pagani Utopia - arguably two of the least compromised V12 thoroughbreds you can purchase… if you’ve got a few blank cheques to dispose of.

So, dear readers, we want to hear from you: which of these cars, or indeed any that we’ve not mentioned, takes your vote as the best V12 supercar on sale right now? We’ll comb through your comments and upload the customary results post this Friday. Happy quarrelling, people.
