The clamour for spruced-up Transits seems to be greater than ever right now if Britain's motorways are to be believed. But what if Ford's own factory MS-RT kit isn't enough for you? Well, how’s this aftermarket kit from London-based company Smart Van?
The parts are made from plastic using something called intelligent reaction injection moulding techniques, and the kit consists of a sharp front splitter, lots of (possibly not real) air intakes, a new rear diffuser, bigger wheel arches, dramatised side sills and a two-pronged rear wing for extra attitude. A selection of chrome paint finishes is also on offer, with sportier badging thrown in as part of the makeover.
No interior updates come as part of this package, but Smart Van has confirmed that customisations can be made to suit specific customer needs. You could definitely have some fun with that…
Anyway, the changes will also be strictly cosmetic, although you can have the Transit Custom in either diesel, petrol-hybrid or all-electric forms these days so there's still plenty of choice there. The kit is now available for installation on all V710 versions of the Ford Transit, and apparently starts at around £6,500 plus VAT.
