THIS SPECIAL EDITION ASTON MARTIN DBX707 AMR24 CELEBRATES ITS F1 CAR
Aston Martin has revealed a special edition of its DBX707 SUV that duly celebrates [checks notes] going backwards in F1 performance. We jest. It’s a near-700 horsepower SuperSUV wearing a suit tailored from the cloth of Aston’s 2024 Formula One car.
An F1 car which – in the hands of one Fernando Alonso – has recorded good results so far this season (at least until the last couple of races). Aston says it’s a “curation of unique colour and trim features”. We say: it green and mighty.
But no mightier than before, mind, because no more power has been teased from that 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 – the only version of the DBX you can now buy – which means 697bhp and 664lb ft of torque. Both of these figures are what you’d call ‘really bl**dy enough’, able to shoot the DBX707 from 0-60mph in 3.1s and on to 193mph.
So, that power can now be matched with either a black, white or the delightful green paint you see here, green/lime green brake calipers, 23in ‘Fortis’ wheels in satin or gloss black, and – importantly – an AMR24 engine plaque.
It also pays its dues to the official F1 medical car, via the medium of green or silver accents on the bodykit. Inside, there’s yet more overt F1 messaging, in the form of black trim with coloured stitching and piping, carbon fibre and dark chrome/titanium mesh and satin chrome detailing, and some Aston Martin and AMR24 logos dotted about the place.
There’s also a phatter sound system: a Bowers & Wilkins setup, which still isn’t likely to drown out the thunder of that V8 as you watch several other cars that are faster than you hare past on the outside lane. We jest: it loud.
