But that’s not all, he’s going to be the first journalist EVER to take these cars around Toyota’s all-new test track! During this video, he’ll get his hands on the 1st generation, the Japan-exclusive GRMN, the 2nd generation (both manual & automatic), and the limited-edition Ojier & Rovanperä editions! So let’s take a look at how they compare. Starting with the 1st GR Yaris, it comes with a 1.6-litre 3-cylinder engine that produces 272hp and 370Nm. It’s equipped with a switchable four-wheel drive system and a 6-speed manual gearbox, and it truly is an affordable and incredible rally car for the road! Then we come to the GRMN edition. Only 500 were ever made, and while horsepower is the same, torque increases slightly to 390Nm. The car also comes with several other upgrades, including a carbon fibre wing and bonnet, a lower ride height, and a load of Alcantara on the inside! Then we come to the second generation. Power has been increased to 300hp and 400Nm, and it’s available either manually or automatically. It comes with stiffer suspension, a 20mm lower ride height than the gen one, and a set of digital dials. It also comes with a loftier price tag, starting at £40,000. And then finally we have the two limited-edition models, built with personal input from drivers from the Toyota Gazoo Racing WRC team. Both editions have exclusive paint jobs, improved rear wings, as well as drive mode settings personally chosen by the two drivers. Both cars are limited to just 200 editions each! New BMW 5 Series v E-Class v A6: Which is best?
Compare the best new & used car deals with Carwow: https://bit.ly/New-Car-Deals-1902 When it comes to choosing a new posh, mid-range saloon, it doesn’t get any better than these three - the New BMW 5 Series, the Mercedes E-Class, and the Audi A6. The question is if you want to get your hands on one, which should you choose? Well, Mat’s on hand to put all three cars through a series of rigorous tests to find out which one comes out on top! So let’s take a closer look at the three. First up we have the New BMW 5 Series. It’s unmistakably a BMW from the exterior, although we’re still not sure about the load of straight edges and creases across the front and rear. Thankfully it’s not followed the route of the 3 Series and added the huge kidney grille design! Step inside and the cabin is full of soft-touch materials along with a huge infotainment and digital dial screen. When it comes to performance, the car we have is the 520i. It comes with a 2-litre turbo petrol engine that sends power to the rear wheels only, and it puts down 208hp. It comes with a price tag of around £64,000. Then we have the E-Class. It’s probably the most stylish, luxurious-looking car from the outside. There are even some trim options available to make it look like the S-Class! The interior is also easily the most luxurious of the three cars. There are soft-touch materials everywhere, and even the opportunity to have three screens in the front! The seats are also super comfortable. The car we have here is the E300e, which comes with a 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, and it’s also a plug-in hybrid, so it comes with a small electric motor too. It can put down 313hp and this edition costs £77,000. Then we have the A6. It had a small facelift last year, but it’s still been around for absolutely ages! It still looks pretty smart on the outside, although we would rather choose one of the other two instead. The interior is nice, with soft-touch materials throughout, but it’s easily the most basic of the three cars here. Then again, given the age it’s also the cheapest, so it’s not too bad a deal. The car we have here also comes equipped with a 2-litre turbocharged engine along with an electric motor, so it can put down 299hp. It’s also the only car here that comes with all-wheel drive! The specific model we have is the 50 TSIe Quattro in S-line trim, and it costs around £66,000. So will the newer BMW come out on top? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself! During the RACE 1000 event in Germany I have filmed modified cars doing drag racing at the 1/2 Mile straight. This event is all about who got the highest top speed after 1/2 Mile! The car is packed with customizable features so the driver can configure the vehicle to their exact preferences. We'll deep dive into ten of these features, summarized below: 1. N Pedal - Developed as a solution to overcome the inherent weight and size of EVs, N Pedal was designed for instant turn-in behavior and enhanced throttle sensitivity, increasing the regenerative force to create a dynamic weight transfer that helps to sharpen corner entry. 2. N e-Shift simulates the behavior of the eight-speed dual-clutch N DCT of ICE N models by controlling the motor's torque output and power and simulating the jolt feeling between shifts. It provides the push feel of a DCT transmission and various levels of simulated engine braking using regeneration. The purpose is to increase driving fun, provide a more interactive driving experience, and deliver the same emotions of an ICE on a racetrack or a windy road. 9. N Active Sound+ - produces three sounds – ‘Ignition’, an ICE N engine and exhaust sound, and two futuristic EV sounds, including ‘Supersonic’, inspired by fighter jets – through eight internal speakers and two external speakers. Drivers can even rev the “engine” when N e-Shift is activated and transmission is in park or neutral. 10. N Road Sense - automatically recommends that the driver activate N Mode when double-curved road signs are detected. This lets the driver enjoy even more driving fun. Honorable mention: e-LSD - The electronic Limited Slip Differential (e-LSD) controls the amount of torque sent to the rear wheels, enhances handling performance when turning at high speeds, and improves wheel-slip compensation.
